Committee Meeting Minutes
21st December, 2000

1. Present Errol Ferris, Paul Heneghan, Brian Ireland, David Wales

2. Squash Membership List Brian Ireland circulated an up-to-date membership list.
Each player is marked with a provisional grading:
A - county standard, down to F - can just about hit the ball

These need to be checked and amended where necessary.

We plan to organize an Open Grading Event during 2001.

3. Marking Courses
Team players of standard A, B or C should attend a marking course. To be discussed at the next meeting.

4. Squash Court Gallery
The state of the gallery has improved considerably over the last few months.
Paul Heneghan, Steve Porter and Neil Healey disposed of the old light fittings.
Brian Ireland has got the championship boards updated.
We also now have a notice board which contains squash-related material like the SRA's Club Accreditation Scheme. Brian has ordered several SRA posters which will also be displayed on the board and round the gallery.
Brian Ireland obtained a combination lock for the gallery door which should make the area a little more secure and allow the storage of racket-ball rackets etc.

5. 2001 Club Championships
The Club Championships are to be held over the following weekends:
Early rounds: 23rd, 24th, 25th, 30th, 31st March, 1st April
Quarters and Semifinals: 6th & 7th April
Finals: 8th April
There will probably be a buffet on Finals Night. To be discussed at the next meeting.
Paul Heneghan will do a poster in the near future advertising the events.

6. Doubles Tournament There will be a doubles tournament on the weekend of 13th & 14th July. There will probably also be a barbecue on the Sunday (14th July).

7. Restricted Tournament The Restricted Tournament is being resurrected after several years absence. It will be on May 5th & 6th and 12th & 13th.

8. Open Day Consideration was given to a squash open day (maybe to include other sports as well). Errol will come up with some ideas for the next meeting.

Club Night Club Night is being reinstated again. It will be on Thursday nights at 19:30 Brian Ireland volunteered to run the first on January 11th. We will ask Steve Porter to book the sessions on the booking sheets. Paul Heneghan will do a poster.
