Minutes for AGM of 8th October, 2000

1. Present Tony Arthur, Derek Barlow, Alison Chinn, Richard Chinn, Errol Ferris, Karen Ferris, Neil Healey, Sue Healey, Frances Heneghan, Paul Heneghan, Jill Hooper, Wayne Hooper, Brian Ireland, John Lomas, George Oxley, John Parry, Ros Porter, Samantha Porter, Steve Porter, Victoria Porter, Tom Richardson, Lorna (& Kevin) Robinson, Ben Salcedo, Ian Smith, Christina Todd.

3. Address from Club Chairman On behalf of the Evesham Rowing Club, John Lomas thanked Brian Ireland, the outgoing captain, for all the work he had done for the squash section over the previous years.

4. Election of Officers Captain: Brian Ireland, proposed by Paul Heneghan, seconded by John Parry, elected unanimously
Vice Captain: Errol Ferris, proposed by Brian Ireland, seconded by Richard Chinn, elected unanimously
Secretary: Paul Heneghan, proposed by Brian Ireland, seconded by Neil Healey, elected unanimously
Ladies' Captain: Louise Nuttall, proposed by Tony Arthur, seconded by Errol Ferris, elected unanimously
Fixtures Secretary: Tony Arthur, proposed by Brian Ireland, seconded by Steve Porter, elected unanimously

5. Register of Committee Members The squash committee now consists of the following people:

Brian Ireland (captain)
Errol Ferris (vice captain)
Paul Heneghan (secretary)
Louise Nuttall (ladies' captain)
Tony Arthur (fixtures secretary)
Richard Chinn
Lorna Robinson
Neil Thorneywork
David Wales.

6. Minutes of previous Annual General Meeting These could not be found but were approved in their absence! They have since been found and have been put on the website.

7. Matters Arising None.

8. Section report This was put on the website and the noticeboard and copies were available at the meeting. The report was approved.

9. Any other business Competitions and Fixture Lists will be produced and published on the website and noticeboard. (Action TA, PH, EF, BI)
Feelers were put out to see if there would be interest in a Mixed Doubles Tournament. (Action EF)
Racketball competition will be considered. (Action BI)
There was a discussion about times and days people found most suitable for tournaments. The concensus was that they should continue to be scheduled as at present; the onus being on players to rearrange their matches and obtain a marker if they cannot play at the allocated time.
