1. | Present | Tony Arthur, Richard Chin, Mike Francis, Paul Heneghan, Brian Ireland, Louise Nutall |
2. | Club Championships | These are to be held over the following weekends: 24th, 25th & 26th March 31st March , 1st & 2nd April 7th, 8th & 9th April The courts have been booked from 17:15 onwards on Fridays and from 15:00 onwards on Saturdays and Sundays. The Club Championship will have two sections, an open section (for both men and women), and a ladies section. Entrants must be squash or full members of the club.
There will be Plate Competitions (for first-round losers) if there are large enough entries (eight or more). This guarantees players a minimum of two matches. The top eight players will be seeded (with additional seeding for the top 16 if required). Tony Arthur will seed the open event; Louise Nutall will seed the ladies' event. Mike Francis will do a poster in the near future advertising the events. |
3. | Fun Weekends | Two 'fun weekends' will be arranged. The organised events will include doubles, handicapped mixed doubles, five-a-side point-a-rally 12-minutes-a-game knockout competitions and racket ball. Goggles will be provided (as per SRA rules for the doubles events).
The weekends booked for these are: |
4. | Squash Supper | Squash supper to be held on 20th May (i.e. on the Saturday evening of the second 'fun weekend').

5. | Lottery Application | Brian has been working along with the lottery committee on our submission to the lottery for £500,000. What we need to work on is our five-year plan for squash development in the club with particular attention to juniors, beginners, the handicapped and our contribution to the community. We also need to identify what outgoings the squash section will have over this five-year period. Paul will organise the start up of a junior section. This will involve contacting certain interested parents (Dave Potter, Steve Porter, Karen Campbell, Sarah Eaton) and the coaches (Errol and Louise) to arrange a suitable slot in the weekly schedule. Brian will organise a 'Beginners' Evening'. Again this will involve contacting likely candidates and coaches. It is anticipated that the coaches will receive a 'fair wage' (£10 per session would amount to £2 each for a group of five) and the club will provide the courts and lights. A quick think about the budget for the squash section over the next five years raised the following items:
