Minutes for Meeting of 29th June, 1999


1. Present Richard Chin, Mike Francis, Paul Heneghan, Brian Ireland
2. Court Repairs Court repairs need to be carried out in the following areas:
  1. Out-of-court lines
  2. Floors - expansion problems and some loose patches
  3. Doors - don't close easily, sharp screw heads can draw blood, door stops don't touch
Court repairs will take place during the week commencing 2nd August. Brian will write /fax confirming letter.

Work party will be held on 8th August to try and clean racket marks off the side and back walls.

Suitably coloured head protector tape must be used on rackets with marking bumper strips. The only colours of bumper strips that appear to be safe are clear and white.

3. Use of weights room Brian will investigate the club rules concerning the weights room. Is it available to squash players?
4. Racket ball Mike Francis will obtain rackets, goggles etc. from Karakal.
5. Marking Course Tony Arthur will organise a marking course for the week before the handicapped tournament. The club has a copy of an SRA video and accompanying booklet on marking.
6. Handicapped Tournament The handicapped tournament will take place on the following dates: 4th & 5th September - preliminary and 1st round matches 11th & 12th September - 2nd round and quarter finals 18th & 19th September - semi finals and finals

The tournament will be open and mixed, i.e. it is open to members and non members alike. It is hoped to recruit some new members in this way.

7. Ladder The ladder board needs some refurbishment. New names to be added are Rob Fitzmaurice, Richard Chinn, Neil Healey, Wayne Hooper, Louise Nuttall, Steve Porter and Dave Potter
8. Social events None for the moment
